Playlists overview
The Playlists page is where flows and imported playlists live. Both download into Aurral’s own folder under aurral-weekly-flow and do not write directly into your main music library.

Flows vs static playlists
Section titled “Flows vs static playlists”| Flows | Static playlists | |
|---|---|---|
| Tracklist | Regenerates on a schedule | Fixed from import or export |
| Downloads | Can generate replacement picks | Retries the exact tracks forever |
| Controls | Schedule, source mix, focus, deep dive | None of the flow controls |
| Worker | Shared download worker | Shared download worker |
Flows are dynamic playlists that refresh automatically based on your listening context and flow recipe. Static playlists come from imported JSON or exported flow tracklists.
Where files go
Section titled “Where files go”Generated playlists are written inside your DOWNLOAD_FOLDER, typically:
/data/downloads/aurral/aurral-weekly-flow/<playlist-id>/Navidrome can scan the same tree and play .m3u playlists. Plex can index the track folders and receive API-synced playlists for Plexamp. See Navidrome, Plex, and Shared storage.
